Mediacentar was founded by Open Society Fund of B-H in 1995 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. In 2000 it was registered as a separate education and research institution owned by Open Society Fund of B-H.

This program deals with media development research in B-H and the region of South East Europe.

What is the future of public television, what challenges does the digital and multi-channel environment bring, what kind of labor relations are present in media, media regulation and self-regulation, what is their role in democratization processes – these are just some of the questions our research projects focused on.

In the framework of this program, MC trains journalists, media professionals in print, broadcast and online media, journalism students and others. Among the implemented activities are the BBC Journalism School which was attended by 229 journalists and more than 150 short-term and long-term training programs organized for journalists and other media professionals which were attended by around 2,000 participants from the region.

Mediacentar Sarajevo has its own video/audio production. It is equipped with a full set of technical equipment, its own studio and production team.

Programs from our production were broadcast on public broadcasters – BHT 1, FTV and RTRS – and documentary films were successfully produced and awarded in international festivals.
