International Conference on Media Pedagogy and Media Education
Sarajevo, October 27, 2023
Mediacentar Sarajevo and Transitions from Prague invite experts and practitioners in the field of media pedagogy and media culture to submit relevant topics and themes in their area of work on the impact of media, social networks, and technology on educational methods for children and youth. The goal of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners, primarily from the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from other EU countries and the Western Balkans, to exchange theoretical and methodological approaches in researching and using digital media, social networks, and artificial intelligence in the upbringing, education, and training of children and youth for its independent, responsible, and ethical use. Proposals from various disciplines with a focus on studying the impact of media on children and youth are welcome.
We are looking for abstracts on the following topics:
• The impact of technology on shaping children's attitudes and behavior: guidelines for parents, caregivers, educators, and teachers;
• Critical thinking of children and parents and preventive strategies to counter the harmful effects of misinformation and other forms of harmful content;
• Artificial intelligence at home and in school: ethical guidelines in teaching and learning;
• Challenges for parents, educators, and the entire community in recognizing and catching-with the new media phenomena.
Deadlines for Submission
Please submit your proposals with a brief explanation of your presentation (up to 300 words) and a short biography (up to 300 words) to prijave@media.ba by October 9, 2023. Abstracts can be submitted in Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian/Montenegrin or English.
The notification of selection results and program finalization will be completed by October 12, 2023.
