Anida Sokol

Anida Sokol worked at Mediacentar Sarajevo from February 2017 to September 2025, first as a researcher and deputy editor, and later as the lead researcher and editor-in-chief of the online magazine Media.ba. She is an editor, researcher, and author of numerous media analyses and studies on media policies, freedom of expression, regulatory and self-regulatory frameworks, media habits and audience trust, as well as the financing of media from public budgets and other sources in BiH and the region.

She closely follows media policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region and advocates for freedom of expression and media freedom. She is a certified trainer in solutions journalism and conducts trainings in media literacy and journalistic standards.

Since September 2025, she has been working as National Programme Officer for Media Freedom at the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She holds a Master’s degree in English language and literature from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and a PhD in European history from the Faculty of Political Science at Sapienza University of Rome. She taught the courses Politics and Media and Political Communication at Burch University and SSST in Sarajevo. Before her studies in Italy, she worked as a journalist in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
