Investigative stories about B-H judiciary

In the second workshop of the program “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in B-H,” which will be held on 12-14 June 2007 at Mediacentar Sarajevo, journalists from B-H media will continue to specialize in investigative reporting on the theme of justice and security.

In consultation with lecturers, participants will work on investigative stories in the area of justice and security in B-H on the topics they chose in the first workshop of the program (17-19 April 2007).
During the workshop, participants will visit the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) of BiH, where they will be acquainted with the organization’s activities and talk to Mr. Sead Lisak, Deputy Director of SIPA, and Mr. Željko Kujundžija, the organization’s spokesman.
Dejan Anastasijević, guest lecturer and editor at the Belgrade weekly Vreme, will talk about ethical contradictions in media in the region, especially in countries of the former Yugoslavia, and about ethics in investigative reporting in stories on justice and security.The lead lecturers are Mehmed Halilović, Deputy Ombudsman on Media of FB-H, and Rasim Čerimagić, lecturer at the Media Plan High College of Journalism in Sarajevo.
This is the first generation of B-H journalists that will finish three-and-a-half-month education in investigative reporting in the area of B-H judiciary at the end of June. An invitation for applications for the second generation of B-H journalists for the program “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in B-H” is open.
The new year-and-a-half program implemented by NetNovinar Training Center “Analytical Reporting – Justice and Security in B-H” is a program of support to investigative reporting in the area of reform of judiciary and security systems in B-H. It will help B-H editors and journalists improve public dialog on security in B-H and learn about judicial reform processes in B-H.
The aim of the program is to help B-H journalists advance investigative methods in analytical reporting on the theme of reform of judiciary and security services in B-H.The organizer is NetNovinar – Center for Investigative Reporting and Media Education (founders: Mediacentar Sarajevo & Investigative Journalism Center, Zagreb).
The program is funded by the Embassy of Great Britain in Sarajevo in the framework of the program Global Conflict Prevention Fund.
