Internews Network in BiH is offering an internship for a graduate or postgraduate student to work in our office in Sarajevo. With support from USAID, Internews is implementing the Strengthening Independent Media in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIM) project. Interns will be required to work at least 20-25 hours per week for a minimum of three months to a maximum of six months.


Program:

The intern will be engaged in a variety of activities. A major task will be to assist in documentation and organization of project activities related to the new media & innovation and investigative reporting components of the SIM project.

The intern will devote 50 percent of his/her time for this activity, which includes information gathering and documentation, assistance with the media grant competition, meetings and event organization, report writing, and possible travel. Other responsibilities include translation and general support for project activities.

Qualifications:

•    University degree, with a minimum of three full years of undergraduate studies, with a background in journalism/communication and knowledge of the media situation in the region.
•    Good organizational skills.
•    Excellent communication skills, including ability to write clearly and succinctly.
•    Motivated, take initiative and propose improvements.
•    Team player with cultural sensitivity and good interpersonal skills.
•    Fluency in English and local languages.
•    Computer literate.
